1977–2017, 40 years of passion for fishing
Perhaps it is the great passion for fishing that has gradually made our company the brand it is today. In this regard, the success of our customers has been the basis for our success. 1977
Under the simplest conditions and in painstaking manual labor, we produced Stipposen. At the beginning for our own needs, later orders from local specialty stores came in.
The end of the 70's...
...we supplied floats as far as England. As a countertrade we acquired English landing nets, fishing umbrellas, bottom landing nets and groundbaits for the local specialized trade.
1985
The bear with fish and the Behr name become a registered product trademark.
Anniversary 1997
Behr Angelsport celebrates its 20th anniversary and moves into the newly built warehouse and office complex at Sägewerk 3 in Ladenburg. Here, more than 2,000 sqm of warehouse and office space are now available.
2007
30 years of Behr Angelsport. Purchase of the old Carl Benz Automuseum with complete conversion into a high-bay warehouse opposite the existing company building.A total of over 4,000 sqm of storage space is now available.
2017 Anniversary & Expansion
Behr Angelsport celebrates its 40th anniversary. Behr supplies over 2,000 specialty stores in Germany and in over 40 countries worldwide.

ANGELZEIT is the name of the free consumer magazine from Behr Angelsport. It is published at regular intervals and is available free of charge directly from us or from specialist dealers. It contains a wealth of great offers, news and interesting information for the enthusiastic sport and leisure angler. For each issue there is a big raffle with fishing tackle worth over 1,000 euros. Behr Angelsport was founded over 40 years ago by Manfred Behr. During his time as an active angler, he was German champion and Baden-Württemberg state champion several times. He was a member of the German international squad for over ten years. He was runner-up in the world championship and took part in several world championships and international VDSF competitions. His passion today is fishing for large trout and saltwater fishing.
Thomas Behr is Managing Director and a passionate freshwater angler. He is mainly out and about with a spinning rod. Either directly here on the Neckar or in Holland, where he regularly goes.
Michael Zeh promotes sales and has close daily contact with our specialist retail customers. He advises and also makes a significant contribution to the successful integration of new articles into the range.
Klaus is also a multiple state champion of Baden-Württemberg and has successfully participated in countless international VDSF competitions, always representing the German flag excellently. Growing up directly on the Neckar, he always caught more fish than his colleagues and other club members, even as a youngster. Klaus is one of the best German Matchangler. He is also an excellent fly fisherman.
Today, Thomas works closely with the Behr development team. He is on the water almost every day and contributes his fishing knowledge, especially when it comes to predatory fish lures, to all new developments. In addition to polefishing, he mainly fishes for carp, zander and catfish, regularly catching fish over 2.25 meters.
Harald is a first-class all-round angler and has been fishing since his early youth. With ASV Ilvesheim he was runner-up in the world championship and several times Baden-Württemberg champion. Together with the Behr team of experts, he plays a key role in the development of new groundbaits and hookbaits for feeder and carp fishing.
The business man from South Tyrol has been fishing since he was 4 years old. He gives our development team useful tips and advice on how to optimize our products. especially in the predatory fish sector. In recent years, Stefan has increasingly specialized in catching large pike and trout. He has been a member of the board of the Eisacktal Fishing Association for many years, where he also works as a manager. Objective: The conservation and reintroduction of the endangered Marmorata trout in the South Tyrol region.
There is probably no other angler in the Behr team of experts who is as versatile and experienced as Rudi. Rudi is responsible for the conservation of endangered Marmorata stocks at the Eisacktal Fishing Association. Every year, large quantities of Marmorata trout are reared in his breeding facility and returned to nature. Rudi is also an excellent fly fisherman and regularly holds fishing courses for beginners and advanced anglers.
